JACKSON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) - The Jackson County Sheriff's Office is partnering up with TextBehind to prevent contraband from entering the jail through mail.
According to TextBehind, they will act as an inmate mail management service to keep contraband out of the Jackson County Jail. They emphasize that this will help create a safer environment for staff, inmates and the public.
"TextBehind prevents hard contraband such as drugs and weapons from arriving at correctional facilities via the mail," said TextBehind CEO Zia Rana. "Personnel and inmates will be safer and the facility can anticipate a significant reduction in mail room man-hours as there is no longer a need to search and process inmate mail." TextBehind serves nine other Alabama county prisons."
