Grady County adopts new system to block contraband in inmate mail

Officials announced an agreement with TextBehind, a Maryland-based company that digitizes non-privileged inmate mail to prevent drugs, weapons, and other prohibited items from entering facilities through the mail.

The service is expected to eliminate mail-related contraband while improving safety for staff and inmates and reducing mailroom labor costs.

TextBehind currently serves more than a dozen Georgia county jails and hundreds of correctional facilities nationwide.
