2.3 - How Does My Loved One Respond?

Every TextBehind letter that your loved one receives contains a reply address and instructions for them to write back. The processing of reply letters from your loved one is free at this time but they will require a postage stamp so they can mail it to us. You do not need credits in your TextBehind account to receive a response from your loved one.

Your loved one’s letter is shipped via USPS from the facility to our headquarters. Once we receive it, we will scan it into our system and upload it into your account for you to view and respond to. You will receive an email notification. Please make sure that your email address and mobile phone number are valid on your TextBehind account.

To view your messages, please view Help Topic 2.1 on How To View Past Conversations.

TextBehind sends an email notification when a new response from your loved one is added to your account. The Correctional Officers will still need to approve your loved one’s response. This review step may cause your letter to be unavailable for up to 24 hours until it is approved for viewing. Please note: Messages are not processed on holidays or weekends.
