TOPIC 6: Mail Delivery to the Inmates (Outgoing Mail)
Mail cannot be delivered to the inmate directly by TextBehind and that's why we cannot say when exactly an inmate would receive a letter in their hand. TextBehind ships all mail to be delivered by a postal service or carrier to the institution's mailroom. The best estimated information available is provided in the email receipt that you receive after successfully submitting an order with us.
Inmates are not permitted to use smartphones inside the prison. They cannot text like we normally do. Generally, all letters are given to the inmates in high quality printed format.
All mail is reviewed and screened for contraband (non-permissible contents) by correctional facility mailroom staff based on their internal rules and regulations that may differ from institution to institution.
Any mail can be rejected with or without notice. It is not possible for us to know about all applicable mail rules, stipulations, regulations and exceptions for each of the thousands of correctional facilities nationwide that may also change at any time. Therefore, we cannot guarantee delivery of letters to inmates by 100%.
Despite these procedural differences nationwide, historically the TextBehind® mail delivery success rate has been well over 99%. Our specific method of mail construction is highly compliant to accommodate all of the most common correctional facility rules nationwide.
To be on the safe side, please make sure to periodically check communication rules for the correctional facility where your loved one is currently located.
TextBehind as a compassion-drive service remains highly diligent when serving families, friends and incarcerated loved ones. We understand the emotional importance of family and friends mail to the incarcerated loved ones and their reply letters and that it means the world to all parties involved.
We make sincere efforts while performing our duties to the best of our abilities. We also want to assure you that we are here to provide as much help as we can and to make it right for you and your loved ones.
